Editor Ant Wrote:Figured it was best to start a new thread on this event as it is starting to generate a bit of interest. Hey Ant! Spent most of the arvo looking around northern end of Hinchinbrook area with the girls today. I haven't fished this area much at all before but it looks ok. Found several rock bars (one really good one), an old aboriginal fish trap and some nicely spaced mangrove trees on a beach and a headland for the high tides. Even saw a few big mullet leeping for their life as water sprayed everywhere around them! Got bloody wet and only hooked up to a cod and trevelly but then we only spent about 20-30 minutes fishing in the 4 hours on the water. Girls kept dry and had a ball, even stopped to watch a few dolphins and check out the barra farm in Conn Creek. Can't wait to catch up mate! Catch Ya! |

Sorry, forgot to mention that we weren't actually targeting Barra either! Thought it important to mention as the season is still closed. Just scaled down the plastics to target cod, jacks, queenies etc. Catch Ya! |

RE: Cardwell Barra Bonanza
It is going to be interesting to note the weather on the lead up to this comp. With it being less than a week away, there may be some people who may not be able to make it.
Lets hope things clear up. Anthony Gomes "Fishing is my business and business is good" |

RE: Cardwell Barra Bonanza
There are currently 58 semi-trailers in Ingham's main street. Apparently still cut in two places and could be Monday before traffic will be flowing, weather permitting. I've been really looking forward to this comp and catching up with a few blokes so I better bloody be able to get through!!!!
Catch Ya! |
