Soft plastics verse hardbody lures & flies
I'm not about to preach the pros and cons of each of these artificial baits but I thought it would be interesting to find out which of them is prefered over the other (if any)?

So what's your poison?

RE: Soft plastics verse hardbody lures & flies
I have used plastics before but find using hardbody lures a lot more satisfying. I have also caught a lot more fish on hardbodies than on plastics. I havnt really given the plastics a real go before but i should make a point of trying out a different one every week.

RE: Soft plastics verse hardbody lures & flies
hey all, im a softie man, i just love to catch fish on them, third favourite is poppers, but for the past 12 months, i have been combining poppers with plastics, by that i mean surface fishing plastics, all plackys swim super on the surface, using frogs, big single tails, and the squidgy fish unweighted is the bomb, the last two seasons this fishing has dynamite on jacks and bazzas salt and fresh, give it a go, you might be suprised guys.

RE: Soft plastics verse hardbody lures & flies
Gidday,
I have mainly fished lures in fresh to brackish waters, in the gulf and Territory and really only bait fished in the estauries around Townsville. I have a go most visits to the local creeks but get impatient as i have found it slow going, and revert to liveys. Any tips anyone can give me on luring the local estauries would be great.
I have had sucess in the earlier mentioned areas with 125mm Barra Classics, but have caught barra in the Mitchell on plastics.
I bought a couple of bibless, sinking rattlers a couple of weeks ago and am waiting for a break in the weather to give them a go somewhere. Does anyone have a rap on these?
I had my first look at this site yesturday and it gets my thumbs up!
Have been buying the paper for yonks though.
Cheers
Dave

Good on ya Chris, atleast I have one fellow softy lover to support me.

I still prefer hardbody lures for trolling but I've got some great looking Bozos softies to try out dragging behind the boat when this bloody rain stops.

So far my list of victims on softies include,

Barra, Jack, Queenfish, Spanish & Doggie Mack, Grunter, Tuna, Trevelly (GT, golden & tea leaf), Flathead, Hussar, Trout, Cod, Bream, .........I think that's it?

What about you Chris?

Hey Dave B, welcome aboard mate!

I'm assuming you live in T'ville? Enjoying the rain at the moment, bloody terrible up here in Ingham!

The only bibless lures I've used are the Halco tremblers in the 150mm for mackerel etc. I've only just started to use them but they have worked well so far. Unfortunately the last one I used was last seen heading for the middle of the pacific ocean attached to something to big for me to stop!

Anyway mate, look forward to chatting online with you!Cool

In actually fact Harro the 150mm Squidgy fish was in perfect condition right down in the Spaniards gob. It wasn't until I though the mack was "pacified" and I tried to remove the softy that it gave one last chomp and bit the tail off!Rolleyes

Thank god for big game pliers or my fingers would have joined the softies tail!!!

The doggies are buggers because they absolutely shred a softy whether you hook it or not.
