2010 Cardwell Coastguard fishing Comp

Hi Gang,

The guys and girls from Cardwell CG are again holding thier fishing competition which is designed as a social/safety awareness/family orientated fishing event. At this stage I'm still working through the details which aren't 100% polished off yet.

This email is just to give everyone the heads up because last year was thier first event and my family and I really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere (and the spit roast pork dinner!).

I will update this post when I can but looks like it may be in early Oct with breifing and social drinks/bbq on friday night, dinner on Sat night (spit roast) and weigh-in and BBQ for Sunday lunch (early lunch so people can travel home).

I haven't absolutely confirmed entry fee yet but it looks like being around $55 for adults and $25 for kids (under 10). That should get you into the comp and bbq lunch on Sunday at very least. Last year prizes included a 2 night stay on a luxury yacht, accommodation @ port Hinchinbrook and many other goodies which by all acounts are back for this year.

If anyone is interested keep early Oct (~9 & 10th?) free and watch this post or contact Cardwell CG.
