RE: Suggestions
I second that! Well done mate the mag looks a great!
Thanx for your comments on junior angler Jamie/Lee, after a while you start to question if what you are writing is of value to readers. And I will make a special puzzle just for you Jamie ![]() Lee I like a real mix, which is what fish a boat offers. I turned off other mags who gave "monthly location reports" because they became too repetitive. You get the same report year in and year out. That's why I prefer to hear trip reports from different anglers in different CQ/NQ/FNQ locations who target the same species as I do. Not only do you pick up different regional tactics but the variations amoungst the differing anglers aswell. I love to experiment with these tactics in my neck of the woods. "How to" stuff is also good but then everyone is different, that is why the F&B format is so successful mate. Now I have a question for my two young mates Harro & Keiren. The schoolies section is aimed at you guys (and perhaps those a little younger) so how have you found it so far? Is it getting a little to heavy or am I getting it about right??? I do try to vary it a little based on a distant memory of what I was looking for in a mag when I was a MAD KEEN TEEN!!! I'd appreciate anyone elses comments who is or has a teenager who reads the JA (or perhaps doesn't read it for some reason?) Is there anything you would like to see or perhaps like dropped from the current JA??? Please fire away....I'm only too keen to hear from you guys. Oh and yes it is pure coinsidence that I penned a piece on sounders for the August JA! I hope it helped a little, but honestly, you really have to get out there and do a little trial and error to get the most out of a unit. Lastly, once again, my lack of computer access is my lame a$$ reason for not joining in again guys. I'm really sorry and I feel bad but I promise I will get it sorted sooner or later!!! If anyone needs me in more of a hurry try my email link, which is possible to check at work! Catch Ya! |

RE: Suggestions
thanks adam,i loved your article on sounders, but as you say i will have to go with experiance.
as you say with keiren and harro, i love reading from the young felles as it takes me back to when i was that age . in your article about your boat, with your selfdraining deck you can get flaps that shut and are spring loaded to let the water out and not in should be standed. |

RE: Suggestions
Hi Adam,
I get plenty of feedback about the Schoolies section and I think you've got it to a good level where its readable to almost anyone, not just the younger ones. We have to remember that lots of folks are just starting out and it's good to have things spelt out basically at times without too much presumed prior knowledge. Fishing is not a matter of life and death - it's much more serious than that! |

RE: Suggestions
Hey Adam, I haven't looked at the August edition's section yet (haven't had time) but it's usually pretty good for info for learners and amateurs. Always a good read to further experience, knowledge for when I need it!
Edit - this is totally off topic, but I just realised I've been signed up since 2007. This forum is almost 3 years old, wow. Petition against Coral Sea closure-> sign up on facebook now! 13 members & counting ![]()

RE: Suggestions
Hey thanx guys. Sometimes I have to pull myself up and say"Ok....I know I understand that, but would someone with no or very little experience?" It's good to hear that in most cases I seem to be hitting the mark. It can be difficult to keep each month at the same level.
Be sure to give me feedback on anything at all, good or bad, because I always like to know if it's what you guys want or not? While I'm at it....any topic requests???? I'm pretty much set for the next 2-3 editions but after that I will be diving through my list of ideas again so if you have anything I will certainly attempt to cover it. Catch Ya! |
