Weirdest Catches?

Cool Weirdest Catches?
Hi Guys!

I came across a few old photos of a Remora and Toadfish I hooked in a trolling session a few years back. I also hooked a stingray on a metal slug a long way back after I let it settle on the bottom, I was trying to pull out a birds nest in my Shimano Corsair.

I'd be interested to here (and see!) if anyone else has come up with any weird catches on lure or bait?

And YES I really did get the Remora and Toady while trolling, no tricks involved!

Cool RE: Weirdest Catches?
Mate at last count I had 18 (and rising) RMG "crazy deeps" of one particular pattern in a box just in case they decide to change colours or stop making them!!!!!

Everytime they come on special I grab one or two.

Cool RE: Weirdest Catches?
I hope he didn't do what those poor buggers did in Townsville a few years back when they cooked one on the BBQ!

One of them died and the other was very ill!

hey kieranc,
i got a sea toad a about 8 weeks ago, it was about 80cm and 7 or 8 kilo too i reckon, was the biggest bloody toad i ever seen or heard of, glad to see your bros toad backs up my fish.

and for the record it pulled like a freight train, i called it a red, we had lost a few big fish to sharks, i was wondering why this one wasnt eaten, found out why, sea toad.

that brings me to another point, how come the sharks and cuda never take sh!t fish like salmon catfish and trevs, they always seems to get reds, trout and pinkies.

Haha. Who knows, maybe they are smarters than we allow them to be. It was a pity, as we thought it might be a huge cod. We also got a approx. 5kg sladey brim (can't remember exact measurement, almost world record). Thought it was good too before we saw it, but they taste like spew.

Cool RE: Weirdest Catches?
I agree Chris!

Those damn men in grey suits love reds and trout but won't touch trevelly, slatey bream and other second rate stuff!

Maybe we need to do some research and incorporate "Shark Technology" into our fish finders!!!
