1. Flag Pole - West of Calder Is 20 46.704s 149 35.112e
Fish top and bottom of tides with bait or jigs for trout.  Once run picks up, switch to metal knife jigs or trolling gear.  Good cobia spot and also holds big mackerel at times.

 

2. Geranium Shoal - Goldsmith group 20 38.822s 149 13.561e
Top shoal for chasing grassy sweetlip and coral trout.  Fish deep rubble around the edges over the tidal change with light lead and running sinker rig for best catches.  Big lipper at night.

 

3. Four Mile Patch 21 07.499s 149 17.314e
Small rubble on sandy bottom.  Snapper in winter on whole squid or soft plastics.  Fish light and use finesse gear.

 

4. Six Mile Patch 21 04.851s 149 19.220e
Small rock and shale on sandy bottom.  Snapper in winter on whole squid or soft plastics.  Fish light and use finesse gear.

 

5. Reichelmann Reef 21 11.301s 149 14.780e
Top spot to get kids into using lures.  Cod, small trout and stripeys in large numbers will take most lures and jigs.  Also holds school mackerel, golden trevally, wolf herring and sweetlip.

 

6. Llewellyn Shoal 20 59.876s 149 18.564e
Some rubble on the bottom, occasional sweetlip and grunter.  If bait is present on the edge of the shoal, troll with gar or hard bodies for mackerel.  Tuna often feeding nearby.

 

7. Oom Shoal 21 03.143s 149 18.209e
Grunter at night.  Fresh dead herring work best.  Fish light.  Occasional mackerel and tuna during the day.  Worth a troll with high speed spreads.

 

8. Hyde Rock 20 54.754s 149 21.370e
Mackerel and trevally on the troll.  Trout on the top of the rock on big baits, preferably live.  Fish edge over the change of the tide for big grassy sweetlip and occasional snapper in winter.
